First time using this new rig of CA-14 mics and very happy with the sound quality from them, even compared to other CA-14 tapes I've collected over the years. Taught myself some basics in EQ using iZotope and it really made the tape shine I think. I'm not super happy with how the A3 performed though, I only used it tonight as the JGSound Battery Box I have on the way didn't arrive in time and I had the A3 on hand. It caused two very short dropouts and has some electrical noise in tests that I believe is down to it supplying 6V when the CA-14's prefer 9V. No noise is present on the recording thankfully and the dropouts were between songs so removing them was easy enough.

Supporting Alcest on the final date of their epic two month tour of Europe, this time in The Academy in Dublin. While not as bad as the smaller Academy 2 room I taped Nadja in earlier this year the main room sound isn't amazing as well. Svalbard played at the very front of the stage in front of a large curtain which wasn't great for sound, the drums in particular, but I'm happy enough with the EQ job overall.
