Notes

The second of two nights that Basinski played in The Sugar Club, the first show sold out before I was able to secure a ticket after being recommended the show by fellow taper Rappard. The second show didn't sell out but it was still quite packed. The tour was titled "The Last Symphony" which is a long medley of unreleased tracks by Basinski backed by extracts from his 2020 album 'Lamentations'. Melancholia II was played by Basinski as he walked off stage and left the venue. It played for approximately 15 minutes before ending but the crowd treated it as if the show was over after only a couple of minutes and started loudly chatting, ordering drinks etc so I cut it off after nearly 3 minutes.
