Notes

My next Japanese Noise entry is another in the Destruction Chaos series. Magmax was a side project of MSBR, though I don’t really hear lot of difference between that and his other music. He takes a bit to get going but hits some nice noise when he gets there. Mothra seemed a mainstay of Destruction Chaos around this time. More clangy metal percussion electronics. To be honest, I don’t remember Maggie Guiaaaa and Hikosoara that well. A quick check reveals some nice noisy electronics. And, of course, the mighty Incapacitants. I remember the Big Inc sleeping on the floor in a corner throughout all the preceeding acts. This recording is pretty good sounding.

A word about the Incapacitants: They were by far the best noise act I saw, but to some extent you need to be there. Noise-wise, the only question is whether they start full on or take a bit to build up. First, there’s the sheer high volume cacophony of the noise, but then there’s the potential chaos they may cause once they get going. They may start pushing each other around, slapping their chests, stage diving, pulling amps out into the audience and laying down on them. I learned early on to go to the left side of the stage, where the little one stands, after the big one knocked me and about 10 other people down once. They never play more than 30 minutes, which is just right, and I generally laugh through the whole thing. There’s always a sense that anything might happen when you see them. At the same time, it’s all good fun. I’ll probably include some Incs in this noise series.
