This concert was billed, quite deliberately, as a "unique live interpretation" of "ARiCA," so anyone expecting a straight rendering of either side of this pivotal album is bound to be disappointed. Instead, it felt rather like an "ordinary" Gyan/Terry improv show, but with more musical nods than usual to the title track of "ARiCA."

Those expecting to see Terry break out a saxophone and delay pedal for the album's ominous and entrancing B-side, "Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band," went home with nothing in the proceedings apparently referencing or reworking it at all, unfortunately.

That being said, there is some amazing stuff here, and when the duo really dig into the "ARiCA" motifs, the show gets kaleidoscopic and incredible in a hurry. The audience was rapturous and respectful, but I got jostled a bit when we sat back down for the encore, so I apologize for the mic fuzz at the start of the final track.

I have occasionally made very minor edits between tracks to shorten up long pauses between pieces. There are no edits to or alterations of the musical content whatsoever.
