Performance / Recording Notes:
Hanna and her "sisters" reunite after a 22 hiatus to perform a residency of four nights at the iconic Hollywood Palladium.
The demand for these tickets was insane! I was advised by a fellow taper that the secondary market was likely to collapse and he told me to wait. Sure enough. About three weeks prior to the event ticket prices fell to $14 and below! I snagged a single hoping to meet up with some friends. As fate would have it, no one else I knew came to any of these shows. It's okay. It was an opportunity to make some new friends. The show was fast, fierce and in your face feminist. Everything I had expected and more. The ladies poured through 26 songs in about 75 minutes. Kathleen and Tobi even had time to chat with the
audience. The former recounted a time after their disbanded and she auditioned for a prominent part in an "off off off Broadway show", only to be offered a bit part for "Drug Girl #2"! Add to that her impresssions of Rindy Ross and Glen Danzig. Too funny! The audience was rapt for the entire show. Chants of "girls to the front" could be heard throughout the show. Several young kids were in attendance. Kathleen advised the audience to look after one another and that anyone being squished make their way to the rail to be brought over. She also reminded us that she's not our parent! New addition Erica Dawn Lyle is an explosive guitarist!

Of Note:
I got rushed during "Dont Need You" and "Suck My Left One". My connections became loose and levels briefly went off the rails. I also experienced about 20 seconds of crackle and intermittent audio during each song. I did my best to repair most of these with Izotope Rx. The problematic portions are still pretty norticeable. Several smaller micro drop outs and clicks were repaired
throughout. Most of those have been rendered unnoticeable. It's far from perfect but, I'm still giving it a VG for the energy and the relative clarity of the show. Minor audio issues during "Rebel Girl" were due to problems with Kathleen's own mic. Crowd noise is most apparent between tracks. A fair amount of woo-hooing. Thankfully, nothing seriously detracts from the music.
