These 3 shows may well prove in time to be amongst the most enigmatic in Will Oldham's illustrious career. Equal indeed, to the transcendant shows with Mick (Marquis de Tren) Turner following the Get On Jolly record.
Nearly all in our party left the 1st night feeling a little perplexed and indeed slightly disappointed by what we'd heard But the following nights and repeated listens to the recs and it's a different reaction entirely, of wonderment & total surrender. Tells us a lot about the expectations we bring to any experience and how often they can cloud our perceptions.

It's something that shouldn't really work, renowned lyricist abandons his own words to chant, recite and repeat often cheesy and sometimes distinctly new age ( if taken alone) fortune cookie motifs mixed with meditative improvisational jams part Terry Riley part Popol Vuh, but such is the artistry on display we are completely sucked in.

Who knows what some of these pieces should be called or, at times during the first night where one starts and another begins but none of that really matters, just lie back and let it in.
