Notes

SourceForge was used for trimming the start/end of the WAV, adding fade-in/out and normalising. No equalisation was performed as I believe in letting people with better skills than me make any necessary adjustments.

Well, what can I say? My first Arcade Fire show and it was truly awesome! Unfortunately, the band suffered some sound issues, in particular with regards to the volume levels, leading to (later) complaints from people stood towards the back and sides of the venue. Fortunately, I wasn't stood in either of these locations!

After listening to the recording, despite the sound/volume problems in the venue, it has turned out pretty good. I was down towards the front-centre and obviously got more dBs than those further back. The low volume meant there is more crowd noise than I would have liked, particularly on the quieter tracks, but it is still very listenable. My Body Is A Cage suffers worst for the 1st half of the song when something went badly wrong with their sound systems. If you view the WAV in an editor you can see the volume is barely above that of the crowd noise between tracks.

Win was less-than-impressed with the size of the gap between the stage and the crowd. In fact, there were around a dozen fans led up onto the front of the stage pre-show and sat down on the floor - what a view! He made several references to the subdued nature of the crowd. In fact, when they played Rebellion, Win went down into the crowd and led around 30 people up onto the stage for half the song and bedlam ensued!

Alas, there were no pre- or post-show sing-alongs in the crowd like at several of their previous shows. Many in the crowd actually booed when the lights went up as they were plainly expecting more than just the 14 songs that were played. Booing hasn't got any place at an Arcade Fire show, so you won't find it on this recording.
