Notes

This recording. She is flawed. Let's look at the laundry list of problems with this little lady:

1) I recorded at 24 bit because I got greedy. I have a 6GB microdrive so recording at 24 bit is not out of the question, but the Microtrack told me I was out of space due to a bug I was unaware of so I missed the last song. The last song was Purple Bottle. Yes, I'm just as mad as you are about that. I'm sure if I hadn't recorded the opening acts I would have had just enough space. Such is the way of things.

2) There is some weird static clicking in the recording and I honestly have no clue what it is. It sounds like it's in the mics so it could be some kind of interference in the cable or I don't know what. The mics are being upgraded soon anyway. Good riddance to those things... they're too huge anyway.

3) I THOUGHT I recorded at 48kHz but I was unaware that for the UA-5 to register a sample rate change, it has to be restarted. So I recorded at 44.1kHz like an idiot.

The good news is that I got the levels pretty well dialed in and didn't even have to normalize the recording in Wavelab. The only editing I did was to crop out some intro noise and dither it to 16 bit audio. This is a pretty raw recording.

The other bit of good news is that this show fucking smokes. I actually forgot where I was during Grass (which is the only song I can pick out from the set... it's true, I am not a rabid fan). The fans were going nuts, the band was going off, the venue was fucking pulsating with the bouncing of a few hundred teenagers wearing animal masks (yes, some of them actually were).

Also, big thanks to Neumo's. This is without a doubt the most comfortable and easy open taping experience I've ever had. Nobody hassled me about taping and the guy at the door even let me in 25 minutes earlier than the general audience so I could set up next to the soundboard.
