Notes

Smaller crowd on hand for this return show to Atlanta, four years after their US debut here in the same club. That may have to do with The Secret Chiefs 3 drawing a substantial portion of the 2013 audience as the opening act. Still, the audience was familiar with the music and very appreciative.

Slightly different line-up for Goblin this time with original keyboardist Claudio Simonetti having dropped off to form his own version of Goblin. Two mid-70’s era members - drummer Agostino Marangolo and bass player Fabio Pignatelli were on board for this version of the band, who were not here in 2013. The guys were very tight and seemed to be enjoying the performance as much as the crowd did. The sound in the room was great and the mics captured the sound beautifully though the low end needed some taming; there‘s still plenty of it. Audience around me were respectful with a few occasional shouters.

The encore did not get recorded, the show ended and the house lights came up, normally a reliable sign the show was over [but not always…]. I headed over to the merch table to join a friend and then saw they were coming back out, I attempted to get set up [having torn down my rig] and I thought I had it, but later discovered I forgot to plug the mics back into the recorder. Oh well, hope you enjoy the 90 minute set I did captured, which sounds great.
