Notes

Hijokaidan are the self-styled “Kings of Noise” and they generally live up to the name. Of course, any group that includes the Incapacitants, plus Jojo Hiroshige on guitar, Junko on helium squeals, and various drummers I never know the name of, has got to be pretty good, and pretty noisy. If you like Hijokaidan, please search out the DVD of their 25th anniversary show at Club24 in Yokohama, one of the most frightening shows I’ve ever attended. Not frightening like scared for my life, but totally chaotic and mildly dangerous. Jojo kept coming out into the audience, throwing tables around and eventually smashing his guitar and throwing the remains on the merchandise table, which he then upended. Meanwhile, the Big Inc was working hard to keep his noise gear running while he destroyed a bass guitar, which took a lot of work indeed. The DVD captures it to some degree. Anyway, this is a pretty good one and a pretty good recording. Some pics included.
